A painting of ships approaching a rugged coast which dominates the picture. Seagulls wheel above a wild rock filled sea at dawn.
This is an oil on canvas, signed by the artist W H Y Beard and dated 1912 by the artist in the lower left hand corner. There is some wear to the paint commensurate with the painting’s age, as shown in the photographs. The canvas was supplied by G Rowney & Co, London W. (West) and this is stamped on the reverse. It is framed in a simple gilt frame, again showing slight wear.
