A fabulous set of 18th Century ornithological copper plate engravings by Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon. This set of 8 engravings are printed onto the original handmade Whatman paper. They are in excellent condition, the hand colouring on each image is still vibrant. Each image has been beautifully framed with a subtle gold slip surrounding the engraving within the mount. The outer frame is of very high quality and has been chosen to work well in either a traditional or modern home.
