The Scunthorpe ammonites always make great display pieces and talking points. The quarry's are now filled in and I imagine the stones left to work on and try and find these ammonites are getting a little thin on the ground.
The ammonite on offer is of good size and colour and priced accordingly, museum examples can command thousands of pounds.
The stone matrix has a crack on the rear, it has been filled and all nice and stable for display. The complete piece including the stone is 17cm x17cm.
