A Very Desirable Late Georgian 8 Day longcase clock by sought after maker Samuel Deacon of Barton in the Beans(Leicestershire).c.1790.Slim oak and mahogany crossbanded case with Sheraton inlays.Reeded columns repeated to the swan neck pediment hood.Fielded panel base and canted corners.Painted arched top dial with rolling moon.Date aperture and seconds count.Strikes on a bell to the hour.Good original condition.Stands 85"high.
Samuel Deacon was famous and well writted about maker who made unsual style of movements with shaped back cocks.He also was a Baptist minister.His workshop still exists in the Leicester museum.
