Rosewood Sewing or Work Table

A mid 19th century rosewood continental sewing or work table.
The table has a hinged lid sewing box that has bombé shaped sides and a concave front.
The interior is fitted with ten lidded compartments and four thread storage compartments.
Underneath the sewing box is a needle work basket that slides out and has an internal locking pin to keep it closed.
The box and basket are suspended on four shaped arms above a concave sided platform.
The table stands on a platform base that has three scroll shaped supports and a carved turned centre column.
The table is in very good condition, it has a lock but no key and the hinged lid is held open by a brass central self supporting arm. (Circa 1850)
