Robert Hinmers Edinburgh Small Longcase Clock
A small Scottish oak Georgian period longcase/Grandfather antique clock. A well proportioned oak case with an arched hood pediment with an original central brass finial. A recessed line inlay to the case hood. A circular painted dial with 5 minute outer markers and a seconds dial. Blued steel hands. An arched trunk door. An 8-day duration timepiece (non- striking) mechanism of A-plate construction similar to a regulator timepiece. A lovely original Scottish pendulum with thistle painted decoration. Circa 1790.
Robert Hinmers of Edinburgh is recorded in Whytes 'Scottish Watch and Clockmakers' book as working from 1779 - 1796.
