A fine mahogany and brass inlaid bracket antique clock dating to the Regency Period. It has a chamfer top surmounted by a brass pineapple. The front panel has brass edged inset quadrants, a brass inlaid plinth and ball feet. The sides have substantial side handles and silk lined fishscale fret panels. To the rear rear is a glazed door revealing the engraved backplate of the twin fusee 8 day movement that strikes the hours on a bell. The convex dial has a strike/silent switch and is signed by the original maker, William Bidlake of Sun Street, London. William Bidlake is listed as a maker in 1844, although this clock pre-dates that, possible the work of his Father who may not be listed.
