Rare Junghans Mystery Clock
We are pleased to offer for sale this very rare mystery swinging pendulum antique clock made by Junghams in the first quarter of the 20th century circa 1920.
Over the years we have handled several of the usual style of the antique clocks such as Diana , Elephant and Kangaroo clocks but due to the influx of cheap Chinese copies in the 1990s general interest has wained and we ourselves have not ventured into the market.
However , when I found this particular clock in Germany about 10 years ago I had to buy it as the quality is exceptional and the subject matter was so interesting . In fact this clock has been in my personal collection ever since as it is the best one of its type I have ever seen.
Search as I may I cannot find another example of this style and on detailed examination by myself and knowledgeable colleagues I am quite happy that this is a genuine clock of the period.
The images should show interested parties all they require but I will highlight several points of the construction. The main casting is made of patinated and gilded bronze weighted by a composite material. The detail and colour are very good indeed. The post on which the pendulum swings has inset red jewels (Ruby?).
Although unsigned the movement can be firmly attributed to Junghams and is of 8 day duration and in perfect working order.
The clock has been deliberately left in the order in which it was aquired
I have a short video of the clock in operation which I can send to interested parties on request
The main casting of the clock is 17 inches tall to the very top . It is 5 1/2 inches wide and 6 inches deep (max )
I would describe the overall condition as excellent and ready to be displayed.Like all antiques there is the odd minor mark but the condition with delight the most discerning buyer.
Interested parties are very welcome to view the item.
Should the buy it now price be paid in full I will deliver/ship and provide a 12 months guarantee free of charge in England,Wales and the Scottish lowlands.
Any lesser offers that may be accepted will be considered a trade sale and the clock sold as described with shipping the responsibility of the buyer.
I will ship this clock worldwide
