Rare Hunting Automata Clock Dumvile, Alderley

A very fine longcase clock with brass dial and rare automaton fox hunt to the subsidiary seconds dial - the only one we have ever seen. John Dumvile (sometimes Dumville) was a very interesting clockmaker who we have researched extensively.
The fine movement is housed in a tall oak 'country' (rather than 'town)' style case, inkeeping with its hunting origins in Cheshire.
8 day movement, striking the hours on a bell.
Brass & Silvered dial 13.5" wide with handpainted (and we think unique) scenes to the rolling moon in the arch. VERY rare automaton style hunting scene to the subsidary seconds dial.
Dims 227cm tall. Max width 57.7cm. Max depth 35.5cm
Original Blued steel hands. Solid oak case. Original glass to hood door.
John Dumvile lived from 1720 to 1796, making this antique clock around 1750. His work iincluded longcases like this (we have pictures of 3 others) and local church antique clocks. We've also seen his turret clock at nearby Peover Hall. All the information we have will be complied into our normal book of 'before restoration' photos
