A 1930s loose powder compact in good condition. The lid is decorated with a typically charming English coastal scene. There isn't any loss of design. Usually our compacts are completely free of powder and the puffs are clean. However, we have decided to leave the powder in situ as it is accompanied by a puff signed '4711'. 4711 is a famous German Eau de Cologne by Maurer & Wirtz. The metal mirror gives a good reflection with only a very minor distortion, which is normal for metal mirrors. The base is stamped 'NATURELLE MADE IN ENGLAND'. Measures 4.7 cm and weighs 25.1 grams. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
