We have for sale a rather hard to find and unusually shaped Qainlong period (1736-1795) Chinese export blue, white and gilt helmet jug.

This unusual Chinese jug consists of a moulded helmet body with a gilded rim extending to a branch like handle terminating in a flat topped gilded finial. The Jug is decorated in blue and white with Chinese landscape scenes including buildings, water, islands, boats, treas and bridges.

This striking Chinese jug is 5.25 inches (13.3cm)high and 6 inches (15.2cm) wide. The jug is in an excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, although there is some wear to the gilded rim. Chinese jugs of this form in this condition are very hard to find.
