Pair of John Paul Jones" U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Ships Decanters (Contents removed!) Made In England .
The 1 LITRE/2 pints Decanters originally holding British Navy Pusser's Rum
Ship's Decanters both depicting scenes of American conflicts the facing decoration featuring Commodore John Paul Jones "I have not yet begun to fight". To his right depicts soldiers raising the U.S. flat in the far east, Korea, Vietnam, Saipan. To the left features a submarine, battleship, aircraft from WWII to current day and rocket power badges of the North Atlantic 1943, Midway 1942, Pearl Harbour 1941, Coral Sea 1942, Korea 1950 and Vietnam 1969. To the back the fourth and last transfer print is of a sailed warship[ Tripoli War of 1812 and Madeira & Bahia LIBERTY FOREVER! is the Title.
These are striking colourful decanters most navy personnel would like. It's stopper is clean cork with china top. Have to say there is two tiny chips below the cork on one decanter (see photo)
Dimensions = Height 23cm diameter base 21cm Litre/2 pints measured. Very sought after naval history items and priced reasonably. These are genuine items and not copies. We believe these to be circa 1970s. Besides tiny chip below cork the items are in excellent condition
