Prudence Turner Oil Torridon Hills Highlands of Scotland
We are pleased to offer for sale this large and beautifully executed in subtle tones, oil on canvas by the British artist PRUDENCE TURNER, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner and entitled it verso 'Torridon Hills'. The painting depicts a view of Loch Torridon with the Torridon Hills in the background. The Torridon Hills are located in the North West Highlands of Scotland and are made of the oldest rock in Europe.
PRUDENCE TURNER was born on the 15th March 1930 in Baluchistan, Pakistan of English parents. She took to painting at an early age and entered a competition against much older children at the age of four. She lived in India, Pakistan, Egypt, France and the UK, alway learning and painting. Her best works were her Scottish oils on canvas and were mostly painted while she visited Ballachulish near Glencoe. She died on the 15th September 2007. Since 1967, her works have been reproduced in print form. For further information on her and for examples of her work, please do a google search.
The painting has been newly framed in a 3" bronze frame to suit. It is ready to hang.
