Primitive 18thC Welsh Comb Back Stick Chair
An absolutely stunning 18thC Welsh Comb Back Stick Chair of highly sought after traditional form. A rare three legged chair from Cardiganshire West Wales. Displaying the most incredible grain and patina throughout. Featuring a thick single slab elm seat supported on three ash stick legs with simple shaped elm arms and comb rail.
A very rare and special chair in every aspect, three legged comb back Welsh Stick Chairs are the most highly desired and sought after of all stick chairs. With some historic worm holes and period repairs to comb rail and sticks as is typical with these historic chairs. A near identical example to this can be found on display in Aberystwyth museum.
This is a beautifully proportioned and accommodating chair that will fit most people comfortably.
Height 31” = 79cm. Seat Height 16” = 40cm. Seat Width 19.5” = 50cm. Seat Depth 14.5” = 37cm. Max Width across Arms 22.5” = 55cm
