Hailing from the Art Deco period, the attractive confectionary advertising tin for Krema in hexagonal form with all over chinoiserie decoration to each side using entirely greens and yellows, featuring exotic birds on a dark green ground, the gold interior vacant, the lid marked “Por Vouce Pour Vos Enfants Krema Le Meilleur bonbon au Beurre” roughly translated as ‘To Your Children ‘Krema’ The Best Candy Butter ‘survives from 1930s France.

In good original condition, the piece has not been over cleaned, or restored. The lid is slightly askew. There is wear to the upper joins and some other associated wear expected with age and use.

Krema is a French company of confectionery, founded in 1923 by Mr. Mollié, first installed at Vincennes, then in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis) from 1925.

Of good size and rarity, toleware doesn’t come any prettier.
