Superb late 18th.c. portrait of a gentleman c.1790. In oil on canvas laid onto board. A very well painted portrait of a self-assured and prosperous looking gentleman in a blue tailcoat with brass buttons, high collar shirt and neck scarf typical costume of the Late Georgian or Regency eras. With some obvious surface damage and areas of retouching. Presented in a period frame with later gilding.
