We are offering for sale this beautifully executed still life oil on board by the artist PAMELA DAVIS, who has signed the painting in the lower left hand corner. The painting depicts a study of burgundy, lemon and white chrysanthemums, with a few carnations and some foliage. The piece shows the minute details only to be expected of an artist who also paints miniatures.

PAMELA DAVIS studied for 3 years at Twickenham School of Art, having obtained a scholarship there, and then studied commercial art for three years. She turned to full time painting of her favourite botanical subjects in 1970 on her retirement from employment and is a retired Member and former Vice President of the Society of Woman Artists and a Member and former Vice President of the Royal Miniature Society. She won the Gold Memorial Bowl of the Royal Miniature Society in 1991. She was a Member of the Hilliard Society and a Founder Member of the Society of Botanical Artists. She lived in Sunbury on Thames, Middlesex but more recently in Worthing. She painted in both oils and watercolour and specialised in floral still life, although there are a few landscapes. Sadly we have learned that she died on 25th October, 2019 at the age of 92.

The painting is framed in its original 2 1/2" gilt frame with linen insert and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Condition: Excellent condition. The frame has some very minor age related wear which is only visible on close inspection.
