Description: Pair of antique pastels with contemporary frames belonging to the Napoleon III period of the late nineteenth century.

The noblewomen of high social extraction are portrayed half-length and wear soft dresses in blue and white worked fabric that run along the neckline.

Note the careful rendering of the facial features, the attention to the nuances of the complexion, the sharpness of the contours highlighted by the light.
