An 18th Walnut Os du Mouton Armchair. C.1700 ( means bones of sheep ) I know not such a nice name for such a beautiful chair.....
A beautiful Armchair with typical down swept arms, scrolled legs and wavy stretchers. All pegged together and solid joints. Totally 18th Century ....
The timber has its original waxed finish and has a soft lustrous sheen. Beautifully re-upholstered and recovered in a very high quality cut velvet with a plain back as these chairs should be. Ruched detail to outer edges of back and finished off with a double row of tasseled fringing.
A handsome usable chair. Old repair to one back leg…..
