This is a very heavy ornate French black slate antique clock with a neoclassical Bronze figure of a scholar and his scrolls adjacent. The bronze has a good detail, colour, patina and the polished slate is in excellent original condition. The case also has brass bindings and feet. It has a French 8 day countwheel, pendulum movement striking on a bell with a white enamel dial with no chips or marks. The bezel is embossed and fitted with a flat bevel edge glass. The movement will be serviced before sale
