A really charming oil on canvas depicting the rather sad scene of a pony left outside an Inn in the snow while his master is having a great time inside. The painting captures beautifully the sadness of the pony in the snow and it is a lovely scene technically well put together and executed. The painting is not signed and this and the subject means that it was probably painted for an advertisement or illustration. The painting has been cleaned professionally. The frame is the original frame and has been repaired in the top right hand corner (does not stand out as much in reality) as can be seen in the photos and the whole thing has been regilded. C.1920
