Nathaniel Hedge Colchester Georgian Longcase Clock
A Georgian mahogany longcase clock. An arched pediment with wavy edging surmounted by 3 brass finials. Brass capped fluted hood columns and an arched trunk door. An arched painted dial with floral corners and a country see saw scene to the arch. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.
The Hedge family of Colchester are noted clockmakers who worked in the 18th and 19th century. This example dates to circa 1820.
