This is an elegant Mid-Century Cut Glass Ice Bucket with Silver Plate Rim, Handle and Strainer. The base of the ice bucket is star cut and the body is diamond cut. The silver plate trim is plain.

The ice bucket was made in Birmingham by P.H. Vogel & Co and dates to between the 1950s and 1970s. Founded in the 1940s, P.H. Vogel & Co were electroplaters and silversmiths based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. They produced a wide range of tableware, smoking accessories and items for general domestic use and remained in business into the late 1990s.

Condition is very good, with no chips or cracks in the glass and just a small amount of plate loss, primarily on the rim edge and the strainer. The handle swings smoothly. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The ice bucket is 12.7cm / 5ins in diameter and stands 23cm / 9ins high with the handle in the upright position. It weighs 1.47kg / 52oz.

The inside of the handle is marked P.H.V & Co and MADE IN ENGLAND.
