Letters Patent Granted by Queen Victoria in 1860
Letter Patent Granted by Queen Victoria to William Richardson of Dudley, Worcestershire, Engineer. Licence for 14 years for an improvement in apparatus for the production of Coal Gas.
Printed in English with handwritten insertions onto 2 large pages of parchment both with elaborately engraved border decorations. The Document is in the Name of Queen Victoria, with the Great Seal of Office attached, placed in its original metal skippet. Date 13th March 1860.
First two lines read
Victoria by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Queen Defender of the Faith.
The Seal measures 16cms across and 2cms in depth.
There is a Blue attached Embossed Patent Duty Stamp for Five pounds, plus a Victoria Cipher on the reverse.
