Lawrence Hardy (MP) Letter of 1893
Handwritten letter from Mr Lawrence Hardy (M.P.) to Mr Milthorp (J.P.) on House of Commons Note Paper. The contents of the letter are
'I am very glad you have made such a coup as to secure Lord Randolph Churchill, though I fear his voice may be unequal to fill the Hall. We shall be certain of an audience. I shall hope to be present. Yours sincerely,' Lawrence Hardy.
Lord Randolph Churchill died in Januiary 1895,aged 45.
Lord Randolph was already seriously ill when this letter was written.
Sir Randolph was Winston Churhill's Father.
The note paper has part Watermark 'KLAND MILL'
and Embossed House of Commons Seal.
The Envelope also has the House of Commons Embossed Seal on reverse. Has Victoria One Penny postage stamp with very good Franking 'SW 42,' plus 'London 5 March 1893,' Franking.
On reverse of envelope has another Franking 'Bradford B K March 1893, Yorks'
