Large Victorian album with 89 albumen photographs
This is a large landscape format leather bound album containing 89 albumen photographs of architectural and landscape interest from England and Wales compiled between 1885 and 1894. The spine and covers are decorated with gilt lines, and the edges of the pages are gilded. The photographs are laid to card leaves with between one and three photographs per page. Pencil inscriptions giving the location and date are below most of the photographs.
Locations include Oxford, Norwich, Penshurst, Southwold, Blythburgh, Romsey, Durham, Malvern, Gloucester, Worcester, Symonds Yat, Monmouth, Raglan Castle, Hereford, Worcester, Tintern, Bristol, Chepstow, Cambridge, Blickling, Snowdon, Harlech Castle, Cader Idris, Wimbourne Minster. There are many photographs of cathedrals, both exterior and interior views.
Dimensions: 45 x 45 cm (17 1/2" x 17 1/2") 5 cm (2") thick
Condition: The album is in excellent condition. Three of the photographs are loose and appear to have never been glued onto the pages. The pages are a little cockled, however, there is very little discolouration and no foxing. Please contact us if you would like to see some additional photographs from this album.

He can deliver to most places on mainland England and Wales and, depending on where he is on his schedule, it may take a few days or up to 4 weeks. Other couriers are available for Scotland and North Wales or where a shorter time frame is required. Purchases can also be collected in person from the Tunbridge Wells area in SE England.
