Impressively large woven wool tapestry wall hanging c.1960. A 17th.c. style scene of a noble family hunting on horseback in the forest with dogs and hawks. Within a border of flowers and fruit. Good quality with a thin padded interface, stitched details and outlines to give slight depth to the surface. Original maker’s certificate on the rear stating it as being by the Jacquard weavers La Filandiere of Fresnoy-Le-Grande in Northern France. Excellent condition with fittings for hanging along the top edge.
