India Duty Revenue Tax Stamp - c.1870's
Indian Congreve Revenue Blue/Black Oval Tax Duty Stamp of circa 1870's. for the value of One Rupee and Eight Annas. The paper is Watermarked with part of the Unicorn (being part of the Coat of Arms of the Crown, Lion & Unicorn). Plus the words. 'OF INDIA and EXCHANGE.
The document has a franking at the base, but is not legible.
