Grandmother Small longcase clock
I am delighted to offer a beautiful and very rare Grandmother antique clock of excellent proportions ready to go straight into the home.
This clock is only 6ft 3inches tall in height which will fit in any home with an 8 by 11inch arched brass dial which has a deeply engraved centre. It has a silvered chapter ring with a boss in the arch with a monogram of either the maker or gift recipitant initials "CG" and is dated 7th December 1922.
The 8 day duration weight driven seconds beat movement is of fine quality and fully functioning having been recently professionally services and with no doubt give good and reliable service for years to come.
The maximum width of the clock is 13 inches and 9 inches deep.
The case is constructed in the best English oak and is cross banded in mahogany. There is plentiful string and inlays. It has square reeded columns to the trunk and base. The hood has brass Corinthian capped pillars and lovely pierced paterae. The opening hood door allows access for winding and the trunk door opens to regulate the pendulum. The swan necked pediment retains the original centre finial.
The case has never been re-polished and has developed that colour and patina that simply cannot be replicated.
My photography skills are very limited and the clock is much nicer in the flesh and prospective buyers are encouraged to view the antique clock.
The condition is really nice ready to go straight into the home.
The case has a lovely sheen although there are some aged related marks as can be expected.
Should the asking price be paid in full I will deliver and set up the clock free of charge in England ,Wales and the Scottish lowlands and provide a full 12 months guarantee..
Any lesser offers accepted will be considered a trade sale with shipping /collection being the responsibility of the buyer
Domestic buyers are kindly requested to use alternative payment to Pay Pal due to their high charges
I will ship this clock worldwide.
