Gilt-Framed Rural Oil Painting, Attrib. Henry Pope
Artist - Attributed to Henry Pope (1843-1908), a British artist, known for his rural landscapes.
Title - Untitled
Details - Oil on paper original painting, pasted on to board. Attractive rural scene with a cottage and a figure in the centre. Unsigned. Framed in an antique gilt painted glazed frame, with a gilt painted mount with H. Pope written on.
Condition - Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age. The painting has been pasted on to a card backing and the paper is a little wavy. There is some gilt paint on the surface of the painting around the edges, which has probably transferred from the mount. The frame has some wear and has been re-painted at some point. The mount has some scuffing and grubby marks and may also have been re-painted / touched up at some point.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Visible Image - 22.5cm by 13.5cm
Frame - 35cm by 26cm, 3.5cm deep. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
