Antique large Georgian C1800 mahogany tallboy chest on chest of drawers with an attractive arcaded cornice.

This is a rare tall chest with a huge storage capacity.

Canted corners with inlay.

Designed to be split into two halves for transport/getting up stairs.

This is a lovely chest, that is full of age, charm and character....which appears to have most of its original handles, although some have been replaced (as one may expect).

The drawers slide freely.

Overall maximum dimensions 110.5cmW x 56cmD (plus knobs) x 192cmH (93cm bottom+99cm top).

Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Remnants of old blue paper, marks and stains to the inside of drawers as is usual. No keys and the locks are untested. There are some historical woodworm holes, believed extinct, that we have treated for good measure. Historical repairs to the arcaded cornice (decoration has become detached and then refixed, not always perfectly) but this adds to charm and authenticity.
