George III Large Silver Sugar Basket
Gorgeous large Georgian silver sugar basket of navette shape with arched swing handle to mirror the body shape. Beautiful plain style with reeded band around the rim and over the handle. Set up on a stepped, pedestal foot. Hallmarked to the base for London 1776, maker's initials for Charles Chesterman II. Further lion passant mark to the handle.
It measures 18cm (7") high to the top of the handle, 15cm (6") long and 11cm (4 3/8") wide. It weighs 213g/7.5oz/6.9ozt.
Condition is very good with no damage or dents and minor handling wear. A monogram has been erased from one side.
Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
