A rare George III Gold Spade Guinea, in very good nr. fine condition.
Obverse: 'GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA·' - Fifth laureate portrait of King George III right, legend around.
Translation: 'King George the Third by the Grace of God.'
Reverse: '·M·B·F·ET·H·REX·F·D·B·ET·L·D·S·R·I·A·T·ET·E· 1794' - Crowned quartered shield of arms in the shape of a spade, legend around, date below.
Translation: 'King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg, Arch-Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire.'
