An attractive marquetry inlaid mantel antique clock. A rosewood case with floral marquetry decorations and satinwood crossbanding. A rococo cast handle and circular glass aperture to the top. A silvered engraved dial signed 'Dupont a Paris, Rue St. Louis' and also signed to the mechanism backplate. An 8-day duration mechanism with silk suspension striking 1/2 hours and hours on a bell.

Dupont of Paris is listed as working at this address in 1860.
