A quality French Empire period mantel antique clock surmounted by a gilt bronze cherub putti with torch. A white marble case with black contrasting mouldings with fine gilt ormolu mounts. An enamel dial with finely cast bezel and hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell with countwheel strike. Circa 1820.
