Framed Hand-Coloured J. C. Sepp Nest Engraving
Artist - The artist is not stated but we believe the engraving to be from the book Nederlandsche Vogelen, which was illustrated by Jan Christiaan Sepp (1739-1811)
Title - Palumbi Nidus et Ova (Pigeon Nest and Eggs)
Details - Antique engraving from the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century. We believe it to be a plate from the book Nederlandsche Vogelen by Cornelius Nozeman and Martinus Houttuyn, and illustrated by Jan Christiaan Sepp. The book was published in five instalments between 1770 and 1829. Hand-coloured. Mounted, glazed and framed in a more modern gilt frame.
Condition - Overall in good condition. The paper is tanned with age and the colours are a little faded. The paper is a little wavy with some creasing. The frame has some scuffing, knocking, chipping and wear.
