This is a particularly nice example of a burr walnut bracket antique clock made by Lenzkirch in 1881 which has a quarter striking
ting tang movement.
Lenzkirch antique clocks are considered to be the finest of the Victorian German makers and they are always of excellent quality ..
This clock is veneered in burr walnut which has superb colour and finish . The extensive use of well cast ormlou fittings further enhance the decorative appeal of this item.
The typically well made restored 8 day duration spring driven movement strikes the quarters on two mellow sounding coiled gongs and the hours on a single gong. This arrangement is commonly known as "ting tang" striking.
The circular dial is silvered brass and the hands are original.
The clock is in superb condition and ready to be displayed in the home.
Like all antiques there is the odd age related mark such as a small shrinkage crack above 12 o'clock but nothing that will disappoint the most discerning client.
