Large romantic genre scene oil painting on canvas dating late 19th century depicting an affluent lady wearing a beautiful satin ball gown being greeted by a gentleman of distinction, accompanied by a servant musician to her left who is holding a mandolin, with their pet dog painted in the lower left bottom corner.
The scene is a colourful example of generously applied paints of rich colour.
FRAME
Set within a later swept antique gilt decorative frame in good solid order throughout.
CONDITION
Label Verso indicates a past reline and restoration in 1980, re cleaning retouching and re-varnish.
Stretcher marks faintly visible throughout under the varnish and evident bottom left.
Otherwise quite respectable order consistent with around 125 years of age.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt if the item is found to have been misdescribed and the purchaser may be liable for the return costs subject to reasons for return.
Returns authorisation should be requested by sending an e-mail before posting.
