A 30 hour running clocks by Sheffield maker Ellis. It’s s very typical South Yorkshire round dial Longcase clock with an early painted dial that originally were produced in Birmingham and supplied to clock makers throughout the country.
This all oak example is in beautiful condition and has its original surface finish which is an attractive red oak colour. The 30 hour movement and dial are completely original to dial and steel hands are almost certainly original. It has a panelled base which was common in the Yorkshire area and a swan neck pediment to the hood and pilasters to the corners of the trunk. The case would have been originally supplied to the clock maker by a local cabinet maker and is very typical of Sheffield clock cases.
The movement has been recently serviced and is in good running order.
