An interesting oil on wooden panel depicting a heraldic shield. The shield is surrounded with white and red scrolls and the shield itself is divided in two, with a lion to one side and stripes to the other, there is some sort of knights helmet surmounting the shield. The panel is in very good condition, is on pine, it does have very minor old woodworm holes and slight line where two planks join. The painting is in untouched condition and quite dark it has a great early look to it. The panel is mounted in a painted frame that dates from early twentieth century. The whole has a great look for that country house feel. C.1750.
