Edwardian Walnut Bedroom Upholstered Armchair
An attractive antique chair. We date this chair to the very early 20th century.
The chair sits on two cabriole legs with pad feet at the front and two splayed legs at the rear.
The backrest of the chair has been decoratively carved. The chair has a sprung seat pad upholstered in a gold patterned material with a decorative braid to the edges.
The chair has an overall height of 41.5" (106cm), an overall width of 23" (59cm), an overall depth of 21.5" (55cm), a backrest height of 23.5" (60cm), a seat height of 18" (46cm), a seat width of 19.5" (49cm) and a seat depth of 20.5” (52cm).
The chair remains in a very good usable condition with only very minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage, including some minor wear to the finish on the frame primarily to the armrests and some indentations to the feet area. The fabric on the underside of the seat pad has some wear and the springs sag slightly in the middle. There is a very small amount of play to the armrests.
This remains a very stylish and elegant chair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
