Ebonised Bracket Clock with Regulator dial, Robert Best
A fine ebonised balloon bracket antique clock, dated c.1800, by Robert Best of London.
The antique clock has a signed 7-inch silvered regulator-style dial, with subsidiary hours and date dials and centre seconds.
The eight day twin fusee movement has an anchor escapement and is rack-striking on a bell, the backplate finely engraved with fruit and flowers amidst scroll leaves and foliage.
The ebonised case is surmounted with a brass flame finial, with side brass carry handles, a gilt cherub mask plaque, and is raised on scroll bracket feet.
Height 21½ inches (55cms)
Robert Best of St Pauls, London was a Member of the Clockmakers Company from 1783 - 1825. In 1828 he was working in Little Knightrider Street, London.
To be overhauled and guaranteed for 3 years.
