A handsome early 19th Cent longcase clock by Benjamin Russell of Norwich, Norfolk. He is listed as working there from 1812. It has a good quality, nicely figured mahogany case with inlaid panels to the base and hood.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has an attractive painted dial with subsidiary seconds dial and date indicator. It has a moon phase indicator to the arch.

The case is in good unrestored condition. It has a few minor veneer chips to the plinth, a fine crack to the base and a small chip to the trunk door.

The movement is in good condition and has recently had a full service. It is running fine and keeping good time.
