Dutch Flower Still Life Oil Painting by Vanderman
This is a wonderful still life study of flowers and signed by Dutch artist E.VANDERMAN,being beautifully painted on canvas in the distinctive style of the old dutch painters.
The oil painting is signed quite visably in the bottom right hand corner and is underlined.
There is no date visable although the piece is of the late Victorian era and could be dated somewhere between 1890-1910.
FRAME
The frame is not original and was replaced back in 1975,at the time it was shipped back from New York.When packed for air freight it was seemingly removed to save on shipping.
CONDITION
Condition is very good as there are no tears or repairs.
The painting might have been wax relined and is definately on a new stretcher frame.The turned edge of the canvas is nailed down a fresh and you can see it is very old.

Height 28 1/2 Inches
Width 24 1/2 Inches.
Some years ago Phillips,now Bonhams in Market Harborough said the painting was by one of two brothers both with the same sir name,who were listed in the Benzies European Art Guide.
