Chelsea Derby Chocolate Cup and Saucer c1770

we have for sale a lovely example of a trembleuse Chelsea Derby chocolate or caudle cup and saucer dating to somewhere around 1770.
This lovely cup and saucer consists of a delightful double handled waisted chocolate or cuadle cup on a deep trembluese saucer, both decorated with gilded dentil edges and beautifully painted with polychrome flowers on a white ground. The cup was manufactured at the Derby factory and decorated at the Chelsea factory. Both the cup and saucer carry the entwined gilt Chelsea Derby marks to the base. A very similar chocolate or caudle cup is held in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge.
The cup is 3.1 inches(8cm) high and 5.5 inches (14cm) wide from handle to handle, whilst the deep trembleuse saucer is 5.7 inches (14.4cm) in diameter and 1.3 inches (3.3cm) high. Both the cup and saucer are in a very good to excellent condition, although there are a couple of flakes missing from the dentil edge of the saucer and some small areas of rubbing to the top edge of cup the rim associated with historical contact with a lid.
