C18th Georgian Cuban Mahogany Drop-Leaf Table antique mahogany English %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This antique drop-leaf table dates primarily from the eighteenth century, but has some restoration and alteration over the years. The table is of superb quality and we believe it to be constructed primarily from cuban mahogany - it is extremely heavy. The table has a single drop-leaf to one side, which is supported on a pull-out leg. It has four tapering legs which terminate in pad feet.

Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. It appears to have undergone some restoration and alteration over the years - some of the rails underneath are more modern. There is some shrinkage cracking to the drop-leaf at one side, some damage and cracking to one bottom corner of the leaf, and some cracking around the joining edge of the leaf and the table. Two of the feet are cracked and have been repaired.

Overall - 71.5cm high, 88.5cm wide, 40cm deep (closed), 68cm deep (open) (to maximums).
