Brass Fern Mounted Walnut Jewellery Box c.1880
A stunning and rare large antique jewellery / Jewelry box, English in origin and dating to the late Victorian era, c.1880.
Made from a rich cognac coloured burl walnut veneer, my favourite timber, professionally polished. There are a couple of minor age grain cracks, shown and mentioned for accuracy stable and insignificant.
The mounts are rare and quite special, polished brass ferns, again beautifully polished.
The interior has been professionally refinished with a fitted tray with a padded ring bank each side and various compartments in between. Beautifully finished in a rich deep green velvet.
Complete with a working (replacement) key. Excellent condition measuring 11 3/4" x 8 3/4" x 5 1/2".
