Batty's Circus at the Olympic Arena Playbill of 7th February 1842. William Batty was an Equestrian Performer in 1828 and ten years later he owned his own Circus. The Circus preformed all over the country. William Batty died in 1868.
The Playbill is printed in black and red Wood and Metal Type, and is mounted in the original wooden frame. Printed by J W Peel of 9 New Cut, Lambeth. The framed Playbill would have been placed in a shop window.
Delightful example of jobbing printing.
