This is an antique, Victorian side chair dating to c.1900.
With classic Arts & Crafts styling this fine chair is well made in English Oak finished in light, fresh tones.
The twin horizontal splats are pierced with quatrefoils and a fanned crescent with forward facing joints finished with pyramidal cappings, giving the piece ecclesiastical overtones.
The subtle details a sure sign of quality Chamfered legs and seat panel, raked stile ends and notched, extruded cross members all adding up to a delightful example.
A super hall or side chair with solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
