A magnificent antique Edwardian Arts and Crafts coal scuttle in pressed brass. The front panel embossed with an owl amid foliage in an attractive Arts and Crafts design. The lid lifts up to reveal storage space for coal, logs etc and it stands on ball feet. It comes complete with shovel. The top is stamped with a registration mark “RD 47841”. An unusual and quality item dating from circa 1900.

Condition Report:
Wear and marks commensurate with age. The top hinge has a well executed old mend (see phots). The lid is slightly off centre. The shovel also has an old mend. Plenty of tarnishing and scuffs to brass. Small crack to top left corner (sse photo). Lacking liner.
